A while back, I wrote a post called ‘5 Ways To Grow Your Blog‘ that many of you found helpful. Since it’s become such a popular read and I still get asked for blogging tips, I figured it was time for a follow up. So here it is: 5 essential ways to boost your blog’s growth!
- Include Pictures
Pictures are very important when it comes to keeping your readers engaged. Not only do they break up large chunks of text, making your posts easier to read but they also make your content looks 10 times more aesthetically pleasing and who doesn’t like pretty things? If you guys want to learn how to find awesome, free pictures, let me know as maybe I can write another post sharing this?
2. Use Subheadings
This tip will make your posts easier to read as all the basic information they need to know will be in the subheadings. By doing this your readers are also more likely to stay engaged which is especially helpful for when you write longer content. Extra tip, make sure you put the subtitle in bold so it will stand out better too.
3. Quality Over Quantity
I know it can be tempting to write as often as possible but remember quality over quanitity always wins. If you’re just writing for the sake of posting, people will notice and may not find your posts as enjoyable or useful compared to if you put a lot of time and effort into them. It’s okay if you don’t have a new post every day, what matters is the value you bring to readers. So make sure you find a balance between creativity, execution and consistency.
4. Spell Check
A simple spell check of your work makes all the difference when it comes to professionalism. One small typo can change the entire definition of the word and sometimes therefore the whole sentence, which can confuse your readers. I always have a friend or family member check my content before I post but even then I still have been guilty of missing things. 😂
5. Quit The Comparison
Comparison kills, in so many ways! It’s easy to get caught up wondering why someone else is growing way faster than you. But here’s the thing, if you’re putting your time, effort and passion into your posts then you’re already on the right track. Just focus on being better than you were yesterday, not better than someone else you stumbled across online. Everyone’s journey of growth is unique!
If you have any other awesome blogging tips or questions, I’d love to hear them?!
Many Blessings, Grace. Xx
