Just Because You Can, Doesn’t Mean You Should

…Capability is not a calling.

Just because you can carry it all doesn’t mean it was ever meant to be yours to hold.

Being capable has often meant being overextended… saying yes out of obligation, pride or fear of letting people down. But strength doesn’t require self-sacrifice at the expense of your wellbeing.

You are allowed to rest.
You are allowed to ask for help.
You are allowed to set things down.

You don’t have to prove how much you can endure.

Sometimes wisdom looks like letting go, and not pushing through…

~ From a girl who wants to do it all. 🙈

Many Blessings, Grace. Xx

  1. As I read your blog I thought of all my Bible study ladies.I know I recommended a book by Lysa Terkeurst who recommends what I always go along with- using the best yes to prioritise and has worked for me for many years ensuring my time and God’s time is preserved. This blog post is similar.

It’s not just a matter of juggling what to do. You set aside God’s time and your time and then you play with what is left.

You will find blessings galore and be amazed at what you can fit in once the essential times are secured. If I had a £1 for every time someone says to me I have no idea how you do all that you do, I would be a millionaire.

  2. Love this!
