To My Baby Brother

I still remember the day you were born, a literal dream come true as my baby brother was born.  You were tiny, cold and a boy?!  I had no idea how it would feel to look after a baby brother, it felt so strange.

You were a cuddly boy, loved your trucks and jumping on beds or trampolines.  You always had such a soft heart, feeling emotions so deeply which annoyed me until I realised, I was you.

You have taught me more about maturity than most and though I often tried to help or correct you, I now realise how much I have to learn by simply just watching or listening to you.

You were always so bold.  More than I have ever been and as the years have gone by, I’ve seen you become friends with pretty much everyone immediately.  You fight for justice yet peace whilst making sure your loyalty runs deep. You protect the ones you love. You’re thoughtful in many ways and funny in a way that’s definitely your own.

As you turn 16, I’m excited to see all that God has in store for you!  I am proud of the young man you’ve become.  I know this world doesn’t always make it easy for boys to grow up to be both kind and strong, at the same time, but I see both in you so evidently.

My prayer is that as you grow, you’d know how deeply loved you are, by me, your family and most of all, by God. That you’d never let the world harden your heart or dull your creativity.  That you’d learn when to stand your ground and when to surrender it to something greater.  And that you’d always know you don’t have to do it all alone.

So, to my baby brother, who puts up with me annoying him on a daily basis, happy 16th birthday.  You’re only just getting started on this crazy journey called life and I already know the world is better because you’re in it.

Thank you for making everyone know that their life matters!  I hope you always believe this about yourself too.  Love you always, your big sister.

Many Blessings, Grace. xx

  10. My Mom always told me: “Son, life is simple. Love God and love people, because they are the only things that are eternal in this world.”

God is love and is the Source of love in our families.

“For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named…” (Ephesians 3:14-15)

  11. Of course, being 16 is the love age where a girl can be attracted to a 16 year boy. But, here is the thing : Love is kind. It was natural, and is good, I think love needs that experience: MAYbe it will success. God is author of love, he is good

  20. Hi Grace, on August 26th after the administration refuse to wait for two procedures there went my medical career. I am glad that in the back of my mind I always did my best to keep family front and center. Thank you for sharing. Since you blessed with the information with regards to following by tags I wanted to recommend some blogger you might follow but they have been part of the growing community. A Kings, pkmundo, and Jessicaisachristian. If you have trouble finding them I’ll be happy to help. My experience while still pretty raw and painful and every 26th of the month I have small pangs, I also know that for believers we don’t mourn like unbelievers. Yes is not a loss like a family member but as a lost we have to put it in context. God never left me, nor forsook me in the darles hours of that ordeal. So in the end, the Lord gets all the glory. Come Jesus come. Blessings 👍 😀
