Behind The Scenes In Hollywood

Hollywood, a name that often brings movies, fame and red carpets to mind.  But for me LA is more than just a bucket list city, it’s a place to spend time with my family whilst exploring their favourite places to eat, be entertained or simply just go for a walk, as LA is their home.

So, here I thought I’d share a snapshot of some of my outings.  All thanks to my cousins, uncles and aunts who took this very tired girl on many unforgettable trips.

🎬 Warner Bros. Studio Tour: A Dream Come True
Since my cousin works at Warner Bros. Studio, I was fortunate enough to get a personal behind the scenes tour.  I was absolutely in awe of the sheer number of props they had on display, it was insane!  Though I still haven’t watched most of the Friends series, I got to see the iconic set where it was made as seen below.

Stars on the Walk of Fame
Another highlight was visiting the Hollywood Walk of Fame, where I got to see the stars commemorating actors, musicians and filmmakers who have had a significant impact on the entertainment industry. The first several stars I saw were all Australian entertainers which was pretty cool too.

🥐 A Sweet Beginning at Porto’s Bakery
I had never heard of Porto’s Bakery before but quickly learned it’s not just a local favourite, it’s popular nationwide.  As I travelled from city to city and state to state, I noticed people caring bags of Porto’s goodies with them, which my aunt did warn me would happen.  This bakery is a dream for food lovers and although the line was long, there were plenty of staff so it moved quickly.

🎥 Movies with My Cousins
Since Hollywood is known for making movies, I was eager to catch a film in one of the iconic theatres.  I’m grateful that one of my cousins took me to the big screen, where we enjoyed a new movie and lots of snacks.  Also, I had no idea why he was wanting a picture of me standing here but now I know. 😂

📚 The Famous Library with the Book Arch
I hadn’t even heard of this library before coming to LA but my cousin, knowing how much I loved books, decided to take me here.  It’s such an artsy spot in the city.  The architecture and history behind the place are so beautiful too.

I’m incredibly grateful for my time here and am excited to go back in the future to revisit some of these places and explore new ones too.

I’d love to hear your favourite LA memory or bucket list dream, leave me a comment below!

Many Blessings, Grace. Xx

  1. You got to visit the set of Friends?😭 that’s so cool!
This seems like it was a very fun trip.

    1. Yes, it was! I learnt and got to see so many cool things on this trip. 🥰

  2. I went to college close to LA but didn’t do a ton of sightseeing (considering being there 4 years). I did go to the book arch, though!

    1. Oh, so cool! That does makes sense too. I’m pretty sure most tourists have explored sights in my hometown that I’m still yet to visit lol. Xx

  3. Nice memories 😊 I went to LA once, but not Hollywood yet – Hollywood reminds me of band Frankie goes to Hollywood, where did the name originate.

    1. Well if Hollywood is on your bucket list than I hope you get the chance to go! 🥰

      1. Hey Grace, thanks for getting back to me and also getting back to me by email as well. I appreciate it. Yes my podcast is called. It’s a play on words. The whole goal is to talk to people that would be you as well on air and ask you about your musical memories maybe You know before our actual episode do a warm-up episode or warm-up interview and just explore off recording some of your favorite songs or songs mean to you and then just explore it when we’re on the air and record it and see where it goes. I have an outline if you’d email me or reach out to me I’ll give you my email address and I can send you the outline if you’re interested in participating, I would love your help. The goal wasn’t for me to become the only exclusive host of the show either I want to become potential hosts anyway if this is an interest to you, please DMV with your email address take care. Have a blessed day bye-bye

      2. I might if God sends me there on assignment, only He knows where I will end up as I follow his breadcrumbs around the world

  4. Like I’ve often said, California is I nice place to visit but I’d never want to live there.😉

    1. Yes, the hustle and bustle lifestyle is not for everyone. 🙈

  5. I am currently traveling in Tokyo alone, but I do not know that I would ever be brave enough to do that in LA.

    1. Haha, I was very grateful to have family alongside me… made everything flow so much easier! 🤍

  6. You are a great writer!

P.S Thanks for liking my blog.
    God Bless

    1. Aw, thank you! And of course… hope you have a great weekend. 🥰

  7. I was on the road with stars name and the Chinese theater spot.

It was great and seeing the CA road and people, next to the santa monica beach and saw a man and woman got engaged. It was a blessing to be there and was a good memory.

I believe Love God is priority , then we can love others

    1. Oh, so awesome you got to witness that. 🤍

  8. My daughter and her family live on Truxton Ave, Westwood area of LA, near LAX. We have been there many times over the last 22 years. It’s not all Hollywood! The most fun time I remember was taking an EF Foundation daughter with us. My daughter and son-in-law are both engineers, so they have friends that work at Disney. We went there in February, off-season. Not all the rides were open due to maintenance, but no lines to wait in and we could do the ones we liked as many times as we wanted! I also like Truxton Diner just down the street from our family’s home, and the ability to walk to so many places from there! I’ve connected with a small church I can walk to also.

    1. Haha, yes… I have family and friends all over California and even in other states in America too! This was just a snippet of my trip from my time in Hollywood which was fun.

So cool that you have been able to visit your daughter in Westwood many times over the last several years. And amazing that you’ve found a local small church to connect with too! Xx

  9. Thanks for your like of my post, “Jews’ Distress 5;” you are very kind.

    1. Of course! 🥰

      1. I always knew that about you.

  10. Glad you had a great time. ‘Twas my pleasure showing you around my home town!
There’s so much more to eat, drink and explore. When you decide to return, I’d be happy to take you around for Round 2!
I enjoyed this reading this post and I’m equally happy that you got to see a slice of life on this side of the world.

    1. Aw, thank you. And I really am so grateful that you took me around to see so much! I’m excited for round too… Lord willing soon! 🤍 Xx

  11. Is that an arch of books or just an imitation? When you talk of the stars in the Hall of Fame, my mind often goes to the disgraced ones, a reminder of how flawed we humans are, even the ones we idolize.

    1. No, it really is an arch of books which is so cool! 💚
