A Breathtaking South African Safari

Last year I went on a very peaceful and healing trip to South Africa, where I had the privilege of meeting so many wonderful people while staying at a local mission station.

One of the major highlights from the trip was going on safari… something I hadn’t done since visiting Tanzania as a teenager which felt both nostalgic and new all at once.

Many of the animals honestly seemed to be ‘posing’ for us, as you’ll see in a few pics below.

🦓 Zebra

🐘 Elephant

🦏 Rhino

🦌 Antelope

📸 Moments I’ll Never Forget
It was so peaceful to just sit in the back of a 4×4, with no phone signal or distractions, and take it all in.

There’s something so grounding about being surrounded by nature and witnessing the beauty in all that God has made.  I’m so thankful for this experience and for the people who made it possible.

Have you ever dreamed of going on a safari or have you been on one before?  I’d love to hear about it in the comments below!

Many Blessings, Grace. Xx

  1. I was on a construction mission team in February, 2023. We ended our trip with a day in the Terengheti, which looks just like your photos. It was an amazing drive there and back, watching school children walking to school and herders taking their cattle to their daily pastures. Our driver spoke English well and gave us insight into what we were seeing. I recommend anyone that gets a chance to go on safari. It is more than you can imagine and your fees contribute to conservation of these places and animals.

    1. I 100% agree! So wonderful that you got to experience this beauty too. Xx

    2. great, please this is well done story truth

      1. Thank you. 🤍

  2. How wonderful.
I haven’t ever thought or dreamt of going on safari…these days, travel and heat are too much for me. But I thoroughly enjoy where I live in the Fens and the amazing skies we have and views. I live vicariously through photos people post on the internet and tv programmes, from the comfort of my chair. Thank you.

    1. Haha, that’s fair. So good that you’re content too where you live. I went there in February last year and actually it was pretty cool weather most the time and rained much more than I expected. Thankfully this day was a sunny cool day which was perfect for seeing all the animals. 🥰

  3. I would love to hear about your world travels! Have you been to Costa Rica?

    1. Thank you! I haven’t been to Costa Rica before… have you?
I’ve had the privilege to explore a few places in the past couple years but so far have only shared my travels in Vegas, Hollywood and now South Africa. 💚

      1. Took our family of 17 to Costa Rica this past summer. Volcano, rain forest, cloud forest, conservation of nature country, hot springs. Have to travel a bit place to place but doable. Family loved it.

      2. Oh that’s awesome! Xx

  4. I live in South Africa, so glad you enjoyed. We have been on guided game drives and my favorite animal to see is Lions, although I don’t see them much but other than that it’s always an highlight for us to seek out the Giraffes.

    1. Oh yes, that is so cool! I don’t remember seeing Lions this time around but I did on my last trip to Africa! 🥰

  10. I’ve never been on safari but have always wanted to. I’m in the woods every chance I get and often just sit and take it in. It’s healing, energizing and sets everything right.

Nature is the one place we encounter God’s creative power most purely and creation is as He intended… God looked upon all He created and He saw that it was good.

    1. Amen and amen! His creation is always so beautiful! :))
