Living A Life Of Worship: Beyond Sunday

For a long time, I thought worship was something you did.
A song.
A moment.
Hands raised on a Sunday morning.

But worship is more than that.
Somewhere along the way, I realised worship isn’t confined to a melody or a room.
Worship is a lifestyle.

Worship shows up in the everyday.
It’s the way you respond when things don’t go your way.
It’s the choice to trust God when the outcome is uncertain.
It’s obedience when no one is watching.
It’s gratitude when life feels unfair and,
surrender when control feels easier.

Singing is beautiful but it’s not all of worship.
Because real worship continues in the quiet moments.
In the waiting.
In the everyday decisions that say,
“God, I choose to invite You here too.”

It’s more than raising your voice.
It’s how you speak to people.
How you steward what you’ve been given.
How you handle disappointment.
How you love when it costs you something.

If worship were just an action, it would be easy.
But as a lifestyle, it asks everything of you.

And yet, it gives everything back.
Because living a life of worship is about a heart posture.
A heart that stays turned toward God, even when life feels loud, confusing or painful.

So yes… sing the songs.
Lift your hands.

But don’t stop there.
Let worship spill into your everyday mornings.
Your hard conversations.
Your unanswered prayers.
Your ordinary days.

Because worship isn’t just something you do.
It’s how you choose to live.

I’d love to hear, what does everyday worship look like for you?

Many Blessings, Grace. Xx

  1. This is sooo beautiful and soo comforting. Let worship spill into your everyday mornings….loved this line.

  2. So true, Grace. And so beautifully written! Thank you for your encouragement to worship God in EVERY situation.

    1. He is worthy! ❤️

  3. “Everyday worship” is living in constant heart communion with Jesus. When anything unsettles the peace of that precious communion, I’ve learned that it’s because I was distracted by something that penetrated my “self,” and I look to Him/listen for Him to teach me in it even as He rescues me from it. “Everyday worship” is loving to learn how beautiful He is and following Him!

  4. Oh, I needed this one! I’m going to keep it and read it every day.

  5. Hello Grace
This is post is excellent. You perfectly described every day worship. It’s in everything we think, say and do. God has given you great wisdom. Thank you for sharing! MC

    1. Thank you for your kind words! 🧡

  6. I like the idea of obedience = worship.
I had a hard moment this morning, and I chose to obey God rather than act on my feelings. God blessed with peace. I am blessed to think that I was worshiping God in my obedience.

    1. You definitely were! Xx

  7. You’ve given us sometime important to think and meditate about. To me, similar to what you and others have already said, worship is living life in perpetual recognition that God is ever-present and ever-involved in our lives. “In Him we live and move and have our being.” He is there but does not force himself on us. When we acknowledge Him in every aspect of life and strive to sense His presence, communicate, listen and carry out His will, that is worship.

    1. Amen! He is such a gentleman, never forcing us to do anything and always there for us. 🥹

  8. Very good post.
Worship is also choosing not to be blind but see the uncomfortable and take action. We participate in all God provides. Even if it does not fit what we want. God will use it for our good as well as the good of others.
    Peace

  9. I love this – a beautiful reflection on the true nature of worship.

    1. Amen. Thank you for reading. 💜

  10. True, the most obvious worship is the Sunday service

However, not the only time: also when you continue your spiritual journey

    A few examples below:

    1. Listening to Christian Songs
    2. Still trusting and loving the Lord no matter what happens
    3. Hanging on to Hope- so glad I’m an optimist
    4. Spending time in the Mountains

    1. Amen, so true! Thank you for sharing these. Xx

  11. Well written, Grace. Have a blessed day.

  12. Everyday worship for me looks like obedience. It’s the quiet moments doing all the necessary things: making dinner, feeding chickens, doing laundry. It is simple, without fanfare, and beautiful.

    1. Amen! That is worship. 🥰

  13. Amen! A much needed reminder! Bless you Grace, Glory be to God!

    1. Many blessings to you too! 💙

  14. Hanging out with the Lord, music, praise, singing… worshipping Him

  15. Actually, I have a difficult time worshipping in the performance style rock concerts most evangelical churches call “worship.” I just wonder, has anyone ever complained it is too soft?😉
    ❤️🙏🤠

    1. Haha, true! Tbh when I visited America, this often actually made me feel kinda uncomfortable when I was going to the churches there. 🙈

  16. Yes, a lifestyle. So that everything we did brings Him glory:)

    1. Amen and amen!! 🩷

  17. Beautiful, Grace. Thank you for sharing.

    1. Thank you! And thank you for reading. Xx

  18. Beautifully written!

    1. Thank you! ❤️

  19. An insightful yet brief summary of what worship should look like in our everyday lives. Well done, Grace! A lifestyle of worship includes praise and gratitude all day long as opportunities arise, for the view out the kitchen window, Bible study that never fails to encourage and/or challenge, the delight of texts from faraway family and friends that keep us connected, the joy of giving and receiving, sending up quick prayers to our all-powerful God as needs come to our attention, serving someone else, and more. Much more!

    1. Amen! There is always an opportunity to praise Him. 💜

  20. It’s nice to see your perspective. For me, being Christian is something that was instilled in me as a young child. It’s who you are. As you said, it’s how you live your life, it’s your heart, it’s not just showing up for church service on Sunday. It’s something that I feel… Deeply. For me, it’s not a choice, it’s how I am.

    1. Hallelujah! Praise Jesus! 🙌

  21. I love it ” It’s how you choose to live.” It isn’t easy to choose minute by minute how to respond, react, reach, relinquish, and love. Blessing to you as your live out you faith with authenticity.

    1. Amen! Thank you for reading. 💙
