The Simple Things – Part 1

I’m constantly trying to ‘work on myself’ to become a better person by implementing new and better habits into my life.  One of those habits that I have started doing is writing down each day something I am grateful for.  So in this post I wanted to share with you all the simple things that I have been grateful for daily…

August 1 – Getting to hold a new little baby who was only a day old!  Why are babies so cute!?

August 2 – As I was reading my Bible today I felt led to the book of John and I really loved this verse so I wanted to share it will all of you (John 7:38) – ‘Whoever believes in me as the Scripture has said ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”

August 3 – Krispy Kreme doughnuts.    Yum!

August 4 – Well today was pay day so that’s pretty cool. $$$

August 5 – I was in the car today with my Mum and within minutes of me driving something pretty big just fell out of a ute in front of me.  I managed to stop safely and all was good.  Then as we were heading home moments later, a lady in the car next to me started going into my lane as I was right next to her!  There was absolutely no room in our lane and I honestly have no idea how we didn’t collide, other than the hand of God being over this situation.  I braked and turned the steering wheel slightly away from her car to avoid the collision but honestly we should have still collided.  At both incidences I was driving 70 kilometres an hour.   So yes I believe in miracles!  Thank you Lord for your constant hand of protection!

August 6 – Warm cups of green tea.

August 7 – The power of prayer!  Prayer is one of the most important things in my life as a Christian.  It’s how I communicate with my Father in heaven.  Yesterday I was thinking about all the things that I have prayed for over the past few years and how God has answered them.  Sometimes it’s been days, weeks or even years later but God has always been faithful to his children!

I want to encourage all of you to write down or think of something which you are grateful for daily.  I’ll be doing a part two to this post shortly so stay tuned for that.

Tell me something that you’re grateful for?

Many Blessings, Grace. Xx

  1. We get to go grocery shopping whenever we want, and there is always plenty to choose from, and God has provided means to pay.

    1. Amen! God is good. ❤️

  2. Hey sister I think that’s the one thing I do when I first wake up I thank the Lord usually for breath then for my eyeglasses without which I could not see and then I thank the Lord for my sweet Becca my partner my girlfriend and then I go into thank him for many other things. How late I’ve noticed the Lord wants to slow me down reminding me that Rome wasn’t built in a day as the saying goes and that his pace is much slower instead of being like a frenetic shotgun so I bought some journals yesterday and he’s encouraging me to write by hand like I used to do in a daily journal I think this is way his way of slowing me down so that my thoughts are more concise anyway yes there is a truth isn’t there to going back to the simple things in very much the way that the gospel was a very simple thing I seemingly now it seems more complicated but reality it is very simple thank you for your post and thank you for the occasions that you’ve made and had a look at my blog site which is in the process of being revamped anyway God bless you have a wonderful day

    1. Amen! Thank you for sharing what God has been revealing to you. 🥰

  3. The Jesus Prayer: ‘Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner’. Gets me over the bumps in the road from hour to hour! 😃

  4. GOOD THOUGHTS.

  5. When I see God use painful moments to draw us closer to Him. Whether it happened years or seconds ago.

    1. That’s so special! 🥹

  6. For a couple of years I wrote down something I was grateful for each day on a slip of paper and kept it in a jar, my Blessings Jars. I enjoyed reading them recently. I find being grateful for the simplest things daily lifts my spirit. I always thank God for my hot water and shower.
Thank you for the reminder, and also I thank God for keeping you safe.

    1. Aww, that’s amazing! And thank you for expressing your gratitude so beautifully. 💕

  7. Grace,

    Thank you for this!
I, obviously, have heard this before,
But as trivial as it may seem in that we tell ourselves so,
    I will actually do this!
I am convicted myself for God doesn’t pass anything up!
Everything is used for His glory as Roman’s 8:28 tells us!
Romans 8:28 (NKJV): “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”
‭‭Also, what first convicted me was how Jesus stops for the one – like amidst all that is going on, we are nudged and prompted to surrender the time to the one who is largely discounted for, but is of great value!

Tuesday 12.02.25: Jack is grateful to Grace because her WordPress inclined Jack to surrender the time to read her WordPress as I had told myself months before! THANK YOU GRACE! ❤️

    1. Wow, that’s amazing! Thank you so much for sharing this with me and for taking the time to read my blog. ❤️
